This amazing timber is sustainably sourced and milled in collaboration with local Indigenous peoples – respecting the provenance of these forests whilst providing employment, training, and professional mentorship for local indigenous people in Far North Queensland.
Darwin Stringybark is extremely durable largely as a result of its harsh natural growing environment with a rating of 1 for both above and below ground use and is resistant to termites (Average density – 1170-kg/m3).
Darwin Stringybark has very little feature so is available in longer length than many other timbers. It offers good impact resistance when compared to the best of the Ironbark’s and exceeds almost all other Australian and imported timber species.
This durable and good-looking timber is available in decking, flooring and cladding profiles as well as skip dressed timber for furniture and joinery.
