Is predrilling required when installing TimberTech Composite decking?
Predrilling is required when installing Cortex with any uncapped or capped composite deck board. It is recommended to use a 6 mm drill bit to pilot a hole halfway through the deck board but not into the framing.

Can TimberTech Cortex fasteners be used for all decking?
TimberTech Cortex fasteners can be used on all full-profile TimberTech deck boards, and for Terrain+ Collection scalloped-profile boards. TimberTech Cortex fasteners can NOT be used for other scalloped-profile boards including Terrain, Prime+ and Prime collections.

Can I use Cortex fasteners with steel or aluminum framing?
Cortex for Composite is not compatible with metal framing. For steel framing applications, Cortex Drillers (41 mm 410 stainless steel screws) can be purchased
